The City of Crescent City is seeking a highly energetic, motivated individual with strong leadership and management skills for the Chief of Police. Under administrative direction of the City Manager, manages and administers all activities of the Police Department;
Any combination of education and experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be qualifying; a typical candidate will possess ten years of broad and extensive municipal law enforcement experience (with a minimum of three years experience in a supervisory law enforcement management position); a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field, is required. A Master’s Degree in any of the related fields is desirable. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a valid California Driver’s License and a POST Management Certificate. Graduation from the P.O.S.T. Command College is highly desirable.
