The City of Nevada City will value a candidate who practices an open style of management and works collaboratively with the Council, department heads, and staff in a working environment that encourages individuals to excel, and is responsible for implementing City Council's goals and policies. The City Manager establishes relationships with community business groups and governemental entities and encourages economic opportunities. The City Manager will provide information and responses to address public concerns.
Competitive candidates should have a BS/BA in public adminstration/policy, business administration or related field; a MS/MA is desirable. A minimum of five years experience in a senior level management position in municipal government is required.
